Jürgen Mössler is an exquisite person and a very skilled pilates practitioner. He is opening up his very own pilates studio at the end of the month, and while he was busy painting and cleaning an old bakery shop which now functions as the studio, i got commissiond to work on his corporate Id and promo material. Jürgen is very straightforward and has a puristic approach to visual things, so we tried to get away from the classical pilates thing and create something fresher. The only restriction i had was to use brown/earthy tones and a clean visual language. Here is a short preview of the printed material which people will find in and around Merano. The Website will be online in 2 Weeks.

Mars volta

Time is what you make out of it. Long time ago i made some photos of this surreal landscapes found on the “rittner plateau”, including a wheater tower. The pictures accumulated dust, but for some reasons i flicked trought my digital photographic album last week and got stucked watching at them. Merging and manipulating them with other photos of my archive, this poster was born. The message is clear and simple:
Heaven is no longer a place on earth…

For a couple of weeks… I´m glad to fill my „empty-time-gap“ with some freelance working in my old emplying place. Till the 05.12 i will help them out in different design aspects while waiting for my darling to come back from here trip. (finally). Beside from the agency, i have the great pleasure to work on some new freelance projects, which i will showcase soon.

Planet Berg opening

Yes. The countdown is on. After a couple of month of planning, screwing, sewing, designing and painting, the new outdoor-sports shop in kitzbühel is ready to open the doors.

I´ve been visiting the good Fellas Claus and Patrizia in their last steps before the grand day, relatively on the 25.th of November 2011. Here some impressions of the work i was able to do for them, off and online. All the best to this great couple, i hope that our strong “connection” in terms of outdoor passion and creativity will last long and grow stronger.

Now get out and play in the dirt.

Business Cards

Finally i had the time and the right ideas to design my business cards. It´s always difficult to be his own client, as you are never happy with the result and after a couple of days get bored about your own designs. Anyway, i managed to come out with an idea that satisfyed me. They are printed black and white on a 300 g/m paper with matte uv-resistant coating.

Kitzbühel is a very famous hangaround for people passionate about mountaineering, offroad cycling, skiing, but even for wellbeeing and luxury holidays. upthesign got commisioned to design and think the identity of planet berg, the first shop in kitz dedicated to outdoorsports and professional equipment for people who like to challenge their limits.

The work includes Logotype, Flags, Shoppers, Pubblicity, p.o.s. design.

S’pore vs window

Singapores real old name was temasek, which translated means sea town. nowadays almost nothing reminds of the rich cultural past of this sparkling city. Within 4o years, Singa, as the locals call their state, managed to trasform hisself from a poor 3d world country into one of the tecnologycally most advanced citys in the world. Everything wireless, lcd screens and touchpads on every corner. The favourite pasttime of the locals is shopping and eating. And what a delightful experience it is, walking trough a hightech citymall and taste the 1000 different dishes. Everything is on hand. Everything works seamlessly toghether. Many countrys facing economical crisis and civil wars should look over to Singapore as an inspiration.This shot is taken out of the raffles Hospital in downtown Singa, while i was recovering from a healt problem. Long time capture while zooming.

This glorious shot of an old fruit selling lady just behind the doors of the uluwatu temple in bali reminded me of one thing: sometimes you don´t need to speak a foreign language to communicate. The “chemistry” helps to overpass linguistical barriers and gesticulating with arms, fingers and all the rest of the body works as well as the spoken word. What fascinates me about people in asian, the andes and any other 3d world country is the story behind this faces. in a world where creams, botox and facial surgerys cover the lines of the life, this are the true messenger of the past. bless them all.

Branding Luxury

With a great pleasure i am able to give you a small insight on a current project i am working on with my girlfriend. It consists in finding a strong corporate identitiy for an upcoming luxury brand. We just started to finish a long research period and came out with the fresh and unique logodesign as a related abbreviation for subapplications. I can’t tell you right now what valor actually is. It is still a “top secret file” and will be revealed soon.

The core Values to comunicate: Local. Luxury. Unique.

Yes! I made it. Changes are done!

The Blog is online again. Sadly, half a year ago i lost all the critical data because of a really bad provider called Aruba from Italy.

Now i am on a German Provider Company, and things work pretty well. It´s true: Better spend a few bucks more at the beginning and live hassle free than having a crap service and a bad interface site…

It will take me a while to get back to the old glory of the Blog. In the meantime, I thank you all for your patience and hope you come back to have a look in a couple of weeks.
